Urban Armor #8: The Public Speaker

The Public Speaker, a dress covered in speakers, has undergone many iterations. Initially a tweet reader intended as a physical manifestation of the digital public square it has also functioned as a mobile karaoke self-accompaniment and most recently it was used to traced the boundaries of a local radio transmission playing a recording of the wearer's internal scream.

The Public Speaker is the eighth piece in Urban Armor, a series of speculative and absurd wearable electronics which investigate technological and personal boundaries in public space.
